About us

Hearing care that takes the time to get it right.

Medicare Hearing is a family-owned practice serving Vancouver, Ridgefield, and White Salmon. We are small on purpose. It is what lets us spend the time a careful evaluation actually takes.

Our mission

To help people stay connected to the voices, places, and moments that make life theirs.

Hearing loss rarely announces itself. It arrives as missed punchlines, as the dinner table that became work, as the slow decision to stop going. Our job is to understand what you have been missing, measure carefully, verify what we fit, and stay with you long enough to know it is still working. Life is worth hearing.

Who you will be working with

The person fitting you has been doing this for decades.

Between us, that is more than sixty years of hearing aids fitted, verified, and adjusted. Forty-five of those belong to one provider who has also spent years training other specialists in the work.

Experience shows up in specific ways. We can usually tell from a conversation which part of speech you are losing before the test confirms it. We know which devices hold up over five years and which ones keep coming back for repair. And we have seen enough difficult ears and unusual losses that a complicated case is a reason to stay, not a reason to send you somewhere else.

One of us came to hearing care from emergency and addiction medicine. That matters because hearing loss seldom arrives alone. It comes alongside other conditions, alongside medications that affect hearing and balance, and alongside coverage questions most people cannot answer on their own. Reading all of that together is why an appointment here runs longer than a hearing test.

We serve patients in English and Spanish, and we fit and service devices from every major manufacturer, including ReSound, Signia, Starkey, Oticon, Phonak, and Widex. Your hearing decides the recommendation, not a brand relationship.

How we work

Four things we do not compromise on.

We listen before we test

The audiogram tells us what you can detect. It does not tell us which conversations you are losing, which rooms you avoid, or what you have quietly stopped doing. That part comes from you, and it shapes every recommendation that follows.

We verify rather than assume

Fitting software predicts what a device should deliver. Real-Ear Measurement shows what it actually delivers inside your ear. Those two numbers differ more often than most people expect, and the gap is the difference between a device that works in a quiet room and one that works in a restaurant.

We stay after the sale

Adjustments, cleanings, troubleshooting, and education are part of the care, not an upsell that arrives later. A hearing aid that is right on fitting day and wrong six months on has not solved anything.

We tell you what we actually think

If a less expensive option would serve you just as well, we will say so. If your plan covers something that is genuinely sufficient, we will tell you that too. Keeping a patient for twenty years matters more to us than any single sale.

Your next step

Come in and tell us what you are having trouble hearing.

We will listen first, evaluate carefully, and explain your options clearly.
